My New Home on the Internet

Well ladies and gentlemen, I wanted to wait to make sure I had my voice and style figured out before I announced it here, but over the summer I started a podcast about endangered species. Currently, I’m posting it to SoundCloud, and I *think* I have added it to Apple Podcasts, though I can’t find it at the moment (when I do, I’ll post a link here). It’s titled A Voice For the Voiceless, and it’s meant to be an extension of this blog; I was originally going to do a series of articles about endangered species and post them here, but when I realized just how expansive the topic is, I changed my mind. I already had an external microphone, and my new laptop is not even a year old yet, so I had the setup I needed, but did I have the self- confidence I needed to record myself talking once a week? Could I create content that would engage people and teach them something that I hadn’t even known about myself before I did my research?

The jury is still out on those questions, though a kind listener and friend told me that after my last episode, she feels like I’ve found my footing. There are over 2000 internationally listed species whose lives hang in the balance for varying reasons, and their stories deserve to be told. We can’t advance as human beings if we aren’t willing to teach each other and work together to protect our fragile planet. This podcast is my attempt to do my part to make the world a better place. Won’t you join me in being a voice for the voiceless?
